Commentaires - Carle (1995 in Fleck 2024), place plusieurs espèces de Synthemis originaires de Nouvelle Caledonie dans un nouveau genre nommé Calesynthemis. Davies (2002), revient sur cette proposition alors qu'il décrit Synthemis pamelae et il sera suivi par les auteurs, jusqu'à la restauration du genre Calesynthemis par Fleck (2024), dans le cadre de la description de Calesynthemis jeanlegrandi.
