Commentaires
La Classification habituelle tend à avoir rassemblé plusieurs familles au sens de la Classification phylogénétique dans la famille des Synthemistidae s.l. en ajoutant l'avertissement suivant : cette famille pourrait être un groupe non naturel ; des recherches génétiques plus approfondies sont nécessaires (traduit depuis : this family may be an unnatural grouping ; more genetic research is needed) [WOL 2021]. J'ai tenté de séparer cet ensemble "hétéroclyte", voire "confus" de manière raisonnée en utilisant les éléments phylogénétiques à ma disposition (Deliry 2014, 2018). J'y ai distingué les Idionychidae, Gomphomacromiidae, Synthemistidae s.str., Pseudocorduliidae, Cordulephydiae et dans un sous-ensemble regardé comme des Austrocorduliidae s.l., les familles des Syncorduliidae (nouvelle famille proposé : Deliry 2014), Austrocorduliidae s.str., et des Oxygastridae. Cet important splitage de la famille des Synthemistidae s.l. semble nécessaire pour tenter de donner une structure monophylétique aux différentes familles retenues (Deliry 2014, 2018).
