Epiophlebioidea Asahina, 1954

Selon Carle (2012), Asahina (1954) établie une super-famille distincte pour cette famille (Epiophlebioidea Asahina, 1954) en raison de l'unicité morphologique d'Epiophlebia superstes. Il s'agit selon Bechly (1998) d'un nouveau statut (stat.nov.) en remplacement des Epiophlebiidae. Tillyard & Fraser (1940) avaient déjà monté ce taxon au rang de superfamille selon Bechly (1998) : Epiophlebioidea Tillyard & Fraser, 1940.
