Protosticta de Selys Longchamps, 1885 est un genre particulier de demoiselles réparties dans les forêts tropicales et subtropicales d'Asie. Au cours d'une étude visant à documenter la diversité des odonates dans les Ghats occidentaux (Inde), nous avons découvert une colonie d'espèces Protosticta à Wayanad, Kerala, qui semblait différente de toutes les autres espèces décrites jusqu'à présent. Nous décrivons cette population comme une nouvelle espèce après une comparaison morphologique détaillée avec des espèces étroitement similaires présentes dans la région : Protosticta sexcolorata.

Abstract
Protosticta Selys, 1885 is a speciose genus of damselflies distributed in the tropical and subtropical forests of Asia. During an ongoing study to document the odonate diversity of the Western Ghats (India), we came across a colony of Protosticta species in Wayanad, Kerala, that appeared different from all other species hitherto described. We describe this population as a new species after detailed morphological comparison with closely similar species occurring in the region : Protosticta sexcolorata.
