Étymologie

Depuis l'adjectif latin lucifera qui signifie "apporter de la lumière" en rapport avec le fait que l'étude et la photographie des libellules peut éclairer les jours sombres (Seehausen & Dawn 2024).

Répartition

• Andaman (seconde espèce du genre sur les îles avec Lyriothemis cleis : 1998, photos (2014) : Seehausen & Dawn 2024 ; Sadasivan & al. 2025, Sawant & al. 2026).

Habitats

Mal connu : à préciser. Les individus contactés l'ont été (à moyenne altitude), en sous-bois dense, mais avec une canopée modérée, proche de ruisseaux secs en dehors des pluies de la mousson, et dans des secteurs avec de très rares sources d'eau libre (Seehausen & Dawn 2024).
