Goodman & al. (2025) fondent cette nouvelle famille formée des genres Aeschnosoma, Libellulosoma, Pentathemis et Schizocordulia, intégrée à la suite dans la Classification phylogénétique, placée de la super-famille adéquate des Libelluloidea (com., 14 octobre 2025). De la même manière, elle est intégrée dans la Classification officielle au sein des Libelluloidea (Paulson & al. [2025]), mais elle manque dans le sommaire général. [A voir pour la WOL]
