Cette espèce est dédiée au Dr Francy K. Kakkasery, pionnier des études sur les Odonates du Kerala (Vibhu & al. 2022).
A noter que les mentions de Protosticta antelopoides dans les articles de Palot & Emmilyamma (2015) et celles se trouvant dans l'article de Nair & al. (2021) pourraient se rapporter à cette espèce.
