- 2012 - Li & Nel dans un article de Li & al. (2012) décrivent cette espèce sous Epiophlebia sinensis. La date est incertaine et pourrait être 2011 [A vérifier !]. Carle (2012) propose de la ranger dans le sous-genre Epiophlebia (Epiophlebia).
- La larve de cette espèce est inconnue (Carle 2012, Büsse & Ware 2022).
