Commentaires

On trouve sur deux peintures de Qian Xuan (1235-1305) ce qui apparaît comme la première représentation d'une Libellule déterminable. Il s'agit probablement de Rhyothemis fuliginosa (dét. hic [2021]).

Cordulégastres de Chine selon van Pelt (1993-1996)

van Pelt (1993) suppose que les Cordulégastres chinois pourrait appartenir à un autre genre que Cordulegaster, non encore décrit. Ceci concerne alors Cordulegaster lunifera, Cordulegaster jinensis et Cordulegaster pekinensis. Il redécrit dans le même article tous le matériel rassemblé par de Selys Longchamps au XIX^ème siècle concernant Cordulegaster lunifera et Cordulegaster pekinensis. Le traitement de ces taxon chez Lohmann (1993) est confus selon van Pelt (1994). Depuis ces trois espèces ont rangées dans le genre Neallogaster Cowley, 1934 (Deliry [2022] (a), [2024] (a)). van Pelt (1994) rappelle ce fait alors qu’il décrit sa nouvelle espèce, Cordulegaster orientalis (dont le devenir est très particulier en définitive). Le genre Neallogaster existait déjà depuis pas mal d'année puisqu'il avait été fondé en 1934 (Cowley, 1934). Ses rapports avec le genre Allogaster de Selys Longchamps, 1878, ne sont pas encore résolus selon mes lectures (Deliry [2024] (a)). van Pelt résout au moins pour partie ces difficultés, dans son article de 1996.
