L'espèce s'hybride parfois avec Libellula quadrimaculata, une espèce à très vaste répartition, présente aussi dans l'est de l'Asie.
Nord de la Chine, Corée et Japon. Etangs évolués avec quelques plantes aquatiques avec des eaux claire [2021].
