L'odonatologie commence par l'image... avant d'entrer dans la science.

Hoefnagel réalise une série de planche d'Odonates qui n'auront pas d'équivalent en terme de qualité avant plusieurs siècles.

Cet ouvrage est attribué à Joris Hoenagel[1].

On trouve et reconnaît généralement facilement dans cet ouvrage Aeshna cyanea, Aeshna mixta, Sympetrum depressiusculum, Sympetrum sanguineum, Calopteryx virgo, Calopteryx splendens, Sympecma fusca, Coenagrion sp., Sympetrum pedemontanum, Orthetrum brunneum. Les Libellules sont présentées parmi les Mouches (Muscas). Je pense qu'elles proviennent de France.

🔍 - Orthetrum brunneum avec quelques Papillons et Coléoptères (pl.XVII)
🔍 - Calopteryx virgo et autres animaux (pl.XXXIV). Une version de meilleure qualité découverte sur Internet [2023] permet de considérer que ce ♂ est proche de la sous-espèce virgo.
